M.A. in Linguistics with a Specialization in TESOL, CU Boulder
B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Criminal Justice, SFSU
I began teaching as a volunteer with Intercambio teaching adult learners English at various levels. I have tutored adult English language learners to improve their literacy and pronunciation skills. After receiving my M.A., I taught at LCI in Denver and then at CHU.
I see my role as a teacher of English to speakers of other languages as a facilitator of that learning. I want students to see language learning as a natural process. I want students to be the focus of the classroom, keeping my instruction to a minimum and the students’ participation the main focus of the class.
I enjoy spending time with my family, walking my dogs, and reading.
I have been to Canada, Mexico, England, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Greece. I enjoy traveling to other countries and learning about different cultures.
